DYES, STAINS and RESURFACING offer alternatives and solutions to replacing or revitalizing older concrete. Enhance new or old concrete with an inexpensive color treatment.
Dyes can enhance your existing patio, concrete floors or driveway with the color of your choice. Dying is available for interior and exterior concrete. Dyes offer a solid color finish with a penetrating silane sealer as part of its chemical make-up, adding all the benefits of sealers, including winter protection. Concrete dying is a two-coat process resulting in a rich solid color that penetrates deep into the surface of the concrete giving it superior durability and long life. Acid stains are meant for interior use only. They can be used on exterior concrete, however. acid will soften the top layer of the concrete permanently, leaving outdoor concrete vulnerable to surface damage and erosion. Acid stains are available in greens and browns only and leave the surface with an antique mottled translucent color. Any combination of available colors can be used to get the desired affect. The results are permanent. A quality sealer can then be applied over the stain to achieve desired protection and sheen. Resurfacing concrete can be done on interior and exterior concrete, You can choose from many colors or use the standard gray. Resurfacing is done with a specialized blend of polymers and Portland cements. Any existing damage will need to be repaired and the entire surface will then receive a uniform dressing*. A quality sealer will be applied when dry. The entire process for a standard driveway takes approximately 24 to 48 hours. Proper preparation is essential for maximum bonding, power washing will precede all decorative applications. *As with all "top-coat materials" the end result can only be as good as the existing concrete. Concrete showing surface damage may continue to do so.
